About Stephanie-Michelle
Hi, everyone! I am a recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh; I double-majored in French and German--and I even dabbled in the business school for 3 years--but my writing was always my first and foremost interest throughout undergrad. The entire five years I spent at Pitt, I worked with the Western PA Writing Project as a Website Manager, Site Assistant, and Scholastic Administrative Assistant. The last year I was with the Writing Project, I also worked as the YWI Lead Intern.
I realized I wanted to be a writer as early as middle school. My parents had instilled in me and my siblings a deep love for literature. And they taught us to enjoy a wide range of genres. Growing up, reading all these wonderful novels that were written so well that I could imagine myself right alongside the characters, I slowly came to understand that I needed to do something similar.
There were a plethora of books that I cherished over the years, many of which I still hold near and dear. By the time I hit the eighth grade, I knew that I wanted to affect others' lives the way the authors and novels I'd grown up reading had affected me. I've always had a vivid imagination, and I've often joked that I don't spend much time in the real world.
So writing my own novels, short stories, and even poems, became second nature by the end of my high school career. Between my sophomore/junior years at Cordova High and my third year of undergrad, I managed to produce two novels' worth of writing in halting bits and pieces. The manuscript that I'd begun to affectionately refer to as The Ambassador eventually grew too extensive to be one novel on its own. This lengthy and reluctant realization led to me splitting The Ambassador into two parts and re-ordering its sequel as number 3 in a trilogy that took the title of the original manuscript.
Sometime in my last couple years at Pitt, I decided to rename my Travellers series (the series title of The Ambassador original manuscript), and plot out the length and subject matter of each of the novels it would eventually contain:
Obviously, I got a bit cheeky when coming up with these 10-word synopses. Anywho, I hope you all enjoy reading these as they get updated over on Wattpad.
